Following PSG’s historic Champions League final victory, we now know who will be playing in next season’s UEFA Super Cup.
Paris Saint-Germain humiliated Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich on Saturday night to win their first ever Champions League title and secure a remarkable treble.
The win also booked Luis Enrique’s side into the UEFA Super Cup, a one-off match that marks the official beginning of the European football season.
As ever, the UCL victors will take on the winners of the Europa League, which this season was Tottenham, who ended their 17-year trophy drought.
Spurs defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the Bilbao final two weeks ago, which also qualifies them for next season’s Champions League despite finishing 17th in the Premier League.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 UEFA Super Cup:
When is the 2025 UEFA Super Cup?
Next season’s UEFA Super Cup will take place on Wednesday, August 13, with kick-off at 8pm UK time.
If the scores are level after 90 minutes, there is no extra-time so the clash will be decided on a penalty shootout.
There won’t be much time for Tottenham to recover after the game as the 2025/26 Premier League season gets underway just two days later.
Where is the 2025 UEFA Super Cup being held?
The Super Cup is taking place at the Stadio Friuli in Udine, Italy.
Home of Serie A side Udinese, the stadium has a capacity of just 25,144.
Though they have won European trophies before, this will be Spurs’ first UEFA Super Cup appearance and only the second for PSG after they lost 1996 edition to Juventus.
UEFA Super Cup tickets
Tickets for the Super Cup are not yet on sale though typically 60 per cent of the stadium’s capacity is reserved for the two clubs involved.

Who won the UEFA Super Cup last year?
The 2024 UEFA Super Cup was won by then Champions League holders Real Madrid, who beat Atalanta 2-0 in Warsaw.
The match was significant as it marked Kylian Mbappe’s debut for Los Blancos and the forward got off to the best possible start by finding the back of the net after Federico Valverde’s opener.
