Raiders’ Ashton Jeanty Gives Blunt Message After Win Over Titans

The Las Vegas Raiders snapped their four-game losing streak with a 20-10 win over the Tennessee Titans on October 12 at Allegiant Stadium. While Ashton Jeanty didn’t reach over 100 yards from scrimmage, the game plan was to feed him the football and let him make plays.

Jeanty recorded 75 rushing yards on 23 carries while registering 11 receiving yards on two catches. Las Vegas also ensured they limited the number of deep down passes for veteran quarterback Geno Smith.

After the victory, Jeanty spoke with reporters and shared his thoughts on the coaches feeding him the ball and opting for a run-heavy offense.

“It felt good,” Jeanty said. “I mean, I think just kind of setting that mentality, you know, we’re going to run the ball and, you know, when we’re efficient in the run game, we do better as an offense. It makes the job easier in the passing game, and we’ve got to continue to just keep getting better.”

How Are the Raiders Feeling After the Win?

Las Vegas needed a win in Week 6 if they have any hopes of salvaging their 2025 NFL season. Had the Silver and Black gone on and lost this game, they could have officially shifted to sellers at the NFL trade deadline. Nonetheless, they have a slimmer of hope to return to .500. Moreover, Jeanty spoke about what this win meant to the squad.

“It feels good,” Jeanty added. “I mean, obviously, it’s been a long time since we won, so, you know, a great feeling to go out there and get that ben and stuff… It’s big time. I mean, all it takes is one play, one win, to get the momentum rolling in the right way, and we’re going to continue to get better [and not stagnate].”

Las Vegas need to continue this trend of limiting Smith’s passes during a game to ensure that the turnovers die down. Still, it will be up to the offensive line to generate running lanes for Jeanty.

While the rookie running back did get a heavy workload against the Titans, he only averaged 3.3 yards per game. As a result, that production will need to improve going forward.

Raiders Had Impressive Defensive Showing

The Raiders‘ defense also stood out, along with Jeanty’s performance in the win over Tennessee. Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward was under constant pressure in the loss, taking six sacks and throwing one interception as Las Vegas took advantage of the opposition.

After dropping four straight games, the Raiders capitalized on facing a first-year signal caller, keeping Ward off balance throughout the matchup.

Raiders standout Maxx Crosby notched two of those sacks. Following the October 12 victory, the veteran spoke with the media about the performance of the entire defensive line.

“Yeah, it’s awesome,” Crosby told reporters. “You know the standard we set for ourselves in that room is top tier. Love those guys, man. We have a ton of young guys and guys proving themselves, with a ton of energy. It’s a blessing being able to go to work with them every day.”
