Raiders’ Devin White Puts Travis Kelce on Notice With 6-Word Message

The Las Vegas Raiders got to 2-4 with a win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 6, but getting to 3-4 before the bye week would feel really good for the team. Unfortunately, they have to travel to Kansas City to face the defending AFC champion Chiefs in Week 7.

While the Chiefs have dominated the rivalry for years, the Raiders do play them tough. They nearly beat Kansas City twice last season, but ended up losing both games by one score. Las Vegas has a new coaching staff, starting quarterback, and running back this time around, but the Chiefs seem to be hitting their stride.

They are coming off a dominant win over a very good Detroit Lions team and are starting to get some players back. Tight end Travis Kelce isn’t putting up the huge numbers that he’s accustomed to, but he’s still a dangerous weapon for the Chiefs’ offense.

However, one Raiders player isn’t worried about defending the future Hall of Famer. Linebacker Devin White is coming off his best game of the season against the Titans, and he thinks that Kelce doesn’t have a chance against him if he has to cover the tight end at all.

“Devin White gonna win, that’s all,” White said of possible Kelce matchups on Wednesday.

Overconfidence has bitten the Raiders in the past when it comes to the Chiefs, but this is a very different team this time around.

White Talks Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes has a 12-2 record against the Raiders in his career. The Chiefs have dominated the team since he joined them.

If the Raiders hope to ever win the AFC West again, they have to beat Kansas City on a more consistent basis. White beat Mahomes and the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in 2021, so he’s not intimidated by the quarterback.

“I ain’t scared. I know a lot of people look at him for what he is, the guy won three Super Bowls and what not. … I treat every game like a big game, but to go on the road and to be able to go in their house when they got a good stadium and be able to do what we do, so I know I’mma be poised and have my guys ready to play,” White said.

Can Raiders Upset the Chiefs?

It’s very difficult to see how the Raiders can win this game. The Chiefs appear to be hitting their stride, and wide receiver Rashee Rice is finally back from suspension.

Kansas City’s defense continues to be very good, which could be a huge problem for a struggling Geno Smith. The Raiders have proven in the past that they can play their best football against the Chiefs, but even that hasn’t been enough at times.

Beating the Chiefs in Kansas City would be a huge statement. Smith is due for a good game after a really rough stretch to start the season. It’s not impossible that the Raiders could pull off the upset, but they need a lot of things to go right if they’re going to win.
