Raiders’ Maxx Crosby Gets Real About Devin White

Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Devin White played a key role in dismantling the Tennessee Titans’ offense during a 20-10 win at Allegiant Stadium on October 12. White led the team with nine tackles, adding a strip-sack, two pressures, and an interception to end the Raiders’ four-game losing streak.

In White’s final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he tallied 83 tackles, ending a streak of three consecutive years with at least 120. He signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024 but didn’t see any playing time and was released after four games.

Following that, he joined the Houston Texans, starting in only one of seven appearances. Now with his third team since departing Tampa Bay in 2023, White has proven he still has plenty left to offer. Moreover, Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Croby had high praise for White.

“Devin White had an insane game,” Crosby said on the latest episode of “The Rush With Maxx Crosby.” “Proud of him. He’s showing up. He’s doing what he needs to do. Him having a great game like that was huge for us. You have a guy like that who’s been literally at the top of the world—[winning a] Super Bowl, making plays, doing his thing.

Maxx Crosby Respects Devin White Handling Tough Moments

White was at the top of the football world at the start of his career in the NFL. However, he’s had to face adversity over the last few years, and Crosby didn’t hold back his thoughts on seeing White overcome this trouble.

“He got rode off for a little bit, [has] been through adversity,” Crosby added. “You got to respect a guy that doesn’t back down to a challenge. A lot of people are writing him off. You can say about Geno [Smith]. He’s had a lot of [great] guys on our team.

“But Dev, [a] massive amount of respect for him and the way he responded, had a great game, and we just got to keep stacking days. That’s all we talk about all the time. We challenge each other. I challenge him all the time and want him to be the best version of himself.”

Raiders’ Pete Carroll Talks Devin White

Raiders head coach Pete Carroll didn’t hesitate to call out White for his impressive performance from Week 6.

“I don’t know anybody could put up more numbers than Devin White did,” Raiders coach Pete Carroll said (h/t Ryan McFadden of ESPN). “Jeez, it’s a stat line. He made a bunch of plays…That’s a great football game for him, and he missed three tackles that he could have had a ridiculously great game.”

“I’ve always sought those kinds of players, guys that have something to prove… There are things about my personal past that I felt like I had something to prove since I was a little kid. We have common ground there, so I think it is a motivator. I like being around those kinds of guys.”

White will look to carry this momentum into Week 7 when the Raiders face the Kansas City Chiefs. If the Silver and Black want to get a win over their AFC West rival, they’ll need another big-time performance from the veteran linebacker.
