The Los Angeles Rams can exhale, if only a little bit, following head coach Sean McVay’s media availability and the final injury report of the week on Friday.
McVay announced that wide receiver Davante Adams would log a “limited” practice as the Rams close out the week before taking on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, and he did. Adams missed the first two practices of the week, so the limited session he participated in is significant progress.
Moreover, McVay said he anticipates Adams, officially listed as questionable, will play in Week 4.

McVay offered high praise for Adams and starting right tackle Rob Havenstein, who the Rams also listed as questionable, noting their experience is a plus in this kind of situation.
“Feel good about them being able to go. These guys are veterans that have accumulated a lot of experience,” McVay told reporters on September 26. “Looking forward to them doing what we kind of project and feeling good about being ready to roll on Sunday.”
McVay said he did not anticipate a snap limit on Adams and that the receiver would reject one.
Adams expressed faith in the Rams’ plan to get him back on the field.
“It’s just been just something I’ve been kind of feeling lately,” Adams told reporters on Friday. “It wasn’t a moment or anything. It’s just kind of a feeling that you have sometimes after a game. You can’t even really pinpoint when it happened or what exactly. Wasn’t an event, but it’s just a lot of wear and tear. And, obviously, getting through camp, you see it around the league, it’s a pretty common thing that happens.
“We being smart with the team here. Coaches, obviously, working with me. So, yeah, we’re going to be all right.”
There is a significant disparity between Adams (a three-time First Team All-Pro), Puka Nacua, and the Rams’ third receiver. Fortunately for the Rams, Adams has been durable. The lone exception to his durability in recent years was last season with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Davante Adams’ History Bodes Well for Rams

At that time, Adams was seeking a trade out of Las Vegas, and the Raiders eventually dealt him to the New York Jets. That was also a hamstring injury. Adams signed a two-year, $44 million contract with the Rams and has 13 receptions for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns this season.
He also has a strong connection with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.
The situation seems as far from what Adams experienced with either the Jets or the Raiders in the early going of his Rams tenure.
Adams has played full slates of regular-season games four times in his 12-year career. He has also missed more than two games three times, the most recent being in 2024. If his history is any indication, Adams has a strong chance of suiting up on Sunday in Week 4 against the Colts.
Rams Deliver Good News on 4 Starters

In addition to Adams, the Rams ruled Havenstein and tight ends Tyler Higbee (another starter) and Colby Parkinson as questionable. Defensive end Braden Fiske and safety Kamren Kinchens, both starters, do not have a designation.
Fiske and Kinchens both upgraded to full sessions on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday, and stacked with another entire practice on Friday.
To top it off, the Rams declared starting left guard Steve Avila is healthy.
Avila initially suffered his oblique injury during the Rams’ regular-season opener against the Houston Texans. He has been sidelined since. His return puts Stafford on track to have his intended starting o-line for just the second time this season.
McVay needs the Rams’ front five to keep Stafford upright long enough so that he can find Adams and the other playmakers at home in LA against the Colts in Week 4.
