Rams Named Landing Spot For Recently Reinstated Player

The Los Angeles Rams’ passing game has been reliant on two players: Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. The duo accounts for 1,429 passing yards and 14 receiving touchdowns for LA, both more than 50% of production in each category.

Kyren Williams is on pace to have his third consecutive 1,000-yard season, giving the offense a bit of diversity with offensive playcaller Sean McVay.

The offense continues to score and help win games, also in part thanks to a strong defense, but cannot just rely on three playmakers alone.

Reunion With Familiar Face?

After some concerns over his injured back during training camp, Matthew Stafford is playing like an MVP candidate this season. The quarterback has the fifth-most passing yards and the most passing touchdowns in the league.

While Stafford is performing well with Puka and Adams as his main receiving threats, adding one more weapon to his arsenal could benefit him and the Rams’ offense.

CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani names Los Angeles as a landing spot for the recently unsuspended wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr.

“This is my favorite potential landing spot. Beckham helped Matthew Stafford and Co. win Super Bowl LVI with his contributions late in the regular season and in the playoffs that year, and he could do the same in 2025,” Dajani wrote. “The Rams’ passing game is headlined by the talented duo of Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but with Tutu Atwell on injured reserve and Xavier Smith currently in the concussion protocol, the door could be open for OBJ to return for another Super Bowl run.”

Beckham was a member of the LA Rams for the second half of the 2021 season and was a massive help in the team’s playoff run to win the Super Bowl.

In his 8 regular season games with Los Angeles, OBJ recorded 305 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. In the playoff run, Beckham was looking like his prime. The wide receiver hauled in 288 receiving yards and two touchdowns, with a TD and 52 of the playoff yards coming in the Super Bowl — he could have had a better game, but was forced to leave with an injury in the second quarter.

The timing to add another weapon on offense comes at a needed time. Alongside the other two injuries, Los Angeles had placed tight end Tyler Higbee, who has the most yards in the TE group, on injured reserve.

The former LSU Tiger wide receiver was suspended for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy and was given a six-game suspension on October 7.

Getting Rid Of The Rust

Odell Beckham last played for the Miami Dolphins in the 2024 season, playing in 9 games. He didn’t have the most productive season in South Beach, only having 9 receptions for 55 yards.

OBJ has not had a 1,000-yard season in six years, back when he was with the Cleveland Browns.

But reuniting him with Matthew Stafford could rewind the clock and bring Beckham Jr back to his three-time Pro Bowl way.

He has some understanding of the offense Sean McVay runs (barring any drastic changes since he last played). With some chemistry with Stafford, it wouldn’t take long for the QB-WR combo to get in the groove of things.

Beckham has mentioned that he would still like to play this season. And placing him with the Rams could set him up for a second Super Bowl ring.
