Rams Receive Bad News Ahead Of Week 6 Matchup

The Los Angeles Rams will look to return to the win column after losing in a close matchup to an NFC West rival when they take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6.

The Ravens will likely be without two-time MVP Lamar Jackson behind the center as the quarterback is dealing with a hamstring injury and has yet to return to practice this week.

Jackson being out would benefit the Rams’ defensive front as the D-line won’t have to chase the speedy, evasive QB. Instead, it would be Cooper Rush who would fill in for the injured quarterback.

But the Los Angeles offense may have to worry about an elite defender in Week 6. Baltimore released their recent injury report, which shows a valuable player on the Ravens’ defense returning to practice this week.

Kyle Hamilton Returns To Practice

The Los Angeles Rams should not have to worry too much about the Baltimore Ravens offense being as big a threat with Lamar Jackson being out, but they might have to worry about the Ravens’ two-time All-Pro safety on Sunday.

Kyle Hamilton returned to practice on Oct. 8 in limited participation and appears on track to play the LA Rams.

The safety is dealing with a groin injury and missed the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Houston Texans. If Hamilton continues to practice the rest of the week, it would be a clear sign that the safety is playing on October 12th.

Rams offensive playcaller Sean McVay and starting quarterback Matthew Stafford will have to worry about Hamilton in the secondary if he does play.

Stafford currently has the most passing yards in the league with 1,503 yards and star wide receiver Puka Nacua leads the NFL with the most receiving yards.

The Ravens signed CJ Gardner-Johnson and traded for Alohi Gilman to address the safety position if Hamilton were not to dress in Week 6.

What Hamilton’s Return Means

The Los Angeles Rams have one of the best passing offenses in the league, if not the best.

Kyle Hamilton has been one of the best safeties in the league and one of the better cover safeties. In the 2024-25 season, Pro Football Focus gave Hamilton a 90 overall grade, the second-highest by the publication.

“Hamilton was one of the most well-rounded safeties in the league in 2024. He posted grades of at least 88.0 as a run defender (89.2), a pass-rusher (88.1) and in coverage (88.4). His versatility is evidenced by how often the Ravens liked to move him around,” Jim Wyman wrote for PFF.

With how Stafford has been connecting with Puka Nacia this season, Hamilton could disrupt the passing game for the Ravens.

Baltimore is currently 1-4 and could use an upset win against the Rams to keep the team’s playoff hopes alive.
