Ravens Rookie WR Posts Devastating Update After Injury in Final Preseason Game

Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Xavier Guillory revealed via posts on X and Instagram that he has a broken collarbone. Guillory was removed from the Ravens’ final preseason game with what was reported as a shoulder injury, but later revealed that the result was indeed a broken collarbone.

Guillory didn’t have any targets in the Ravens’ first two preseason games against Pittsburgh and Dallas, but had accumulated three catches for 17 yards before exiting the preseason finale against the Washington Commanders.

There is currently no timeline for his return, though it seems unlikely that he will suit up this season.

Guillory was signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft. He played his college football at Arizona State and appeared in the newly expanded College Football Playoff at the end of last season. In the Sun Devils final game against Texas, he had three catches for 19 yards.

In two seasons at Arizona State, Guillory appeared in 22 games and made 43 receptions for 565 yards.

Crowded Wide Receiver Room in Baltimore

Guillory was going to have an outside shot at making the 53-man roster even if he remained healthy, as the Ravens already have three bonafide options at the position in Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman and DeAndre Hopkins. There were eight other receivers also competing for the final few roster spots so it would have been unlikely that Guillory would find a spot on the team come cut day.

6th round pick LaJohntay Wester has also emerged as a strong candidate to make the final roster after a successful first training camp. Wester played second fiddle to fellow rookie Travis Hunter at Colorado last season, making 74 receptions for 931 yards. At just 5-foot-9, 163 pounds, Wester’s speed and athleticism allow him to play much bigger than his size and allow him to be effective on the outside.

With an offense that values speed and downfield plays, Wester could be a sneaky candidate to have a breakout rookie season if he finds his way into a few packages.

Super Bowl or Bust for Baltimore?

Now in his 8th season in the NFL, superstar Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are in their championship window. With the three strong receivers they have in Flowers, Bateman and Hopkins, as well as Mark Andrews at tight end and Derrick Henry in the backfield, the Ravens have arguably the best barrage of weapons in the NFL. The Baltimore offensive line is also among the top six in the NFL according to Mike Clay of ESPN.

After a heartbreaking 27-25 loss in the divisional round to the Buffalo Bills last season, the Ravens have the motivation and the pressure to do something big this season. With the Chiefs taking a step back, it could come down to Baltimore and Buffalo as the two legitimate contenders in the AFC.
