Rayan Ait-Nouri was forced off with an ankle injury during Manchester City’s Premier League defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.
The 24-year-old defender appeared to twist his left ankle following a challenge with Mohammed Kudus in the 15th minute and required treatment from City’s medical team.
Ait-Nouri attempted to play on but was clearly not moving well and in the 22nd minute the left-back was on the ground for a second time.
City then opted to replace Ait-Nouri with Nathan Ake and the £36.3 million summer signing from Wolves went straight down the tunnel.
Air-Nouri will now be an early doubt for City’s next Premier League match against Brighton on August 31.
