The Scottish Open is one of the final events of 2024 and will see someone lift the Stephen Hendry Trophy in Edinburgh on Sunday night.

One of the four Home Nations events, the Scottish has found a home at the Meadowbank Sports Centre in the nation’s capital.

Due to its position on the calendar, just after the UK Championship and with a big money invitational event in Saudi Arabia next week, there has been some high profile withdrawals.

Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump and Mark Williams all opted out of the trip to Edinburgh this week, while Dave Gilbert also pulled out.

However, there is still no shortage of big names in the field, with the likes of Mark Selby, John Higgins, Mark Allen, Kyren Wilson, Ding Junhui, Neil Robertson and Shaun Murphy among the favourites.

Gary Wilson was the winner of the last two editions of the Scottish Open, but his campaign came to a very early end this time around, losing in the first round on Monday morning to Long Zehuang.

The newly-crowned Shoot Out champion Tom Ford gets his campaign underway against Antoni Kowlaski on Tuesday night.
