Seahawks Fan Comedian Goes Viral For Post Thanking Carolina Panthers

Sometimes, you need a little help from your neighbors.

That is probably how the Seattle Seahawks felt on Sunday morning as they watched the Carolina Panthers beat the Los Angeles Rams.

While most observers saw the Panthers’ 31-28 win as another wacky NFL upset, it was a big deal to the Seahawks. And Seattle Seahawks fans, for that matter.

Los Angeles’ loss dropped it down to 9-3 overall. That opened the door to the Seahawks equaling that record Sunday afternoon when they shut out the Minnesota Vikings.

Week 13 was a great Sunday of football the Seahawks. One Seattle fan even made sure to shout out the Panthers for their help.

Comedian Dustin Nickerson Says ‘Thank You’ to Carolina Panthers

A little thank you can go a long way.

So long that the Twitter (or should I say X) algorithm picks it up.

When the 31-28 Panthers win went final in Charlotte, stand-up comedian Dustin Nickerson shared his pleasure in the Rams loss on X.

Nickerson is originally from the Seattle area and is clearly in-tune with the happenings of Seattle sports teams.

A simple post thanking the Panthers seems innocuous at first, but it really underscores how close he follows the Seattle Seahawks.

For the Seahawks to eventually get back in the NFC West race, they needed the Rams to stub their toe somewhere. Seattle suffered its third loss of the season in LA in Week 11, and all it could do was wait for help from other NFL teams to ding up the Rams.

That help finally came in Charlotte, North Carolina.

NFL MVP frontrunner Matthew Stafford threw two interceptions and lost a fumble to the pesky Panthers on Sunday. Meanwhile, Carolina rushed for 164 yards and Bryce Young tossed three touchdowns in the winning effort.

Ultimately, this is just one loss for the Rams, and it doesn’t really change that much about their season. They are still 9-3 with a great quarterback and control their own destiny.

But Seattle fans sure liked seeing them look mortal. After watching Los Angeles dismantle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and edge out the Seahawks in the last two weeks, it was nice to see Sean McVay’s team not look so invincible for a change.

Should the Seattle Seahawks be Worried About the Carolina Panthers?

It’s all fun and games until the rabbit has the gun.

At 7-6, Carolina is not the pushover most imagined entering the 2025 season. It has wins over the Rams, Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys, and it might just win the NFC South.

The Panthers are not to be underestimated. What does that mean for the Seattle Seahawks’ Week 17 game in Charlotte?

It means Seattle won’t just be able to show up and go through the motions to leave with a victory. The Seahawks will have to play better than they did in their Week 12 road win over the Tennessee Titans, for example.

Most importantly, Sam Darnold will have to limit turnovers when the Seahawks take on the Panthers in late December.

If Seattle plays at or near its peak, then it will more than likely defeat a Carolina team with an inferior roster. But the Seattle Seahawks cannot overlook the Panthers, because it could bite them in their chase for the NFC West championship.
