Entering the 2025 offseason, there was no clear cut guy on who would be the leader on the Rams defense. Landman, has stepped up in training camp and on the game day field to be the leader the team needs, outside of wearing the green dot.
Host JB Long of the Host McVay Show pointed out Landman’s leadership on the Rams and asked Sean McVay why it was important for the team to extend the linebacker.
“He was a guy that earned it,” McVay said. “He had shown the way he has led and connected with his teammates and coaches in the way he has impacting things in a positive way that this is a smart thing.”
“I’m really happy for him and I think the great thing about him is when you see the responses from his teammates. When the see that go down, you know that it’s the right decision to kind of reward people that are deserving of it when you see how authentically happy guys are that represent a lot of the things that we want to be about.”
Landman is currently on pace to record a new season career high in tackles. His current high is 110 tackles during his second season in the league.
The linebacker also has registered four pass deflections this season, which is a new career high.
