Shedeur Sanders Snaps at Reporter After Question About Bills Loss

The Cleveland Browns fell short in their comeback bid against the Buffalo Bills, including one fourth-down call that backfired when Greg Rousseau tracked down quarterback Shedeur Sanders and sacked him.

Sanders pushed back at a reporter who asked about the decision after the game, sparking some controversy.

Sheduer Sanders Calls Out Reporter’s Question

The Bills struggled in the second half against the Browns, scoring just three points and relying on the defense to make a pair of big fourth-quarter stops.

The Browns had some decisions backfire as well, including a fourth-and-2 play from their own 44-yard line with 5:08 remaining in the game. Rousseau caught Sanders from behind for a sack, giving the Bills the ball in field-goal range.

When a reporter asked Sanders if he thought it was the wrong call to go for it, the rookie quarterback pushed back.

“You can’t be asking me that question,” Sanders said. “Come on, man… if we want to change the narrative and change the franchise, we have to speak life. Those types of things separate us. A lot of the players get these types of questions. We want to be working with you all and we want to be proactive, but when questions are asked to us players and it’s pinning stuff against each other, come on now.”

Sanders added that the other Browns players would not be addressing what he saw as divisive questions.

“We’re not going to be able to talk to them for real,” Sanders said. “We’re not going to be able to give them what they need because that separates the team.’ That doesn’t help anything. It doesn’t help anything in any situation, no matter how you answer it.”

James Cook Propels Bills to Victory

The Bills won despite a pedestrian game from reigning MVP Josh Allen, who completed 12-of-19 passes for 130 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Bills instead got a huge game from running back James Cook, who topped the 100-yard mark in the first half and ended the game with 117 yards and two touchdowns.

After the game, Allen said he believes Cook is the best at his position in the NFL.

“He’s the best back in football. I don’t know how the awards will shake out, but he should be in the running for every award. He makes our offense go,” Allen said.

The win put the Bills on the verge of returning to the playoffs for the seventh straight season. They need a loss or tie from the Indianapolis Colts on Monday to clinch it this week, and otherwise will go on to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17 for their next shot at clinching.

The Bills are still in contention for the AFC East as well. Though they faced elimination against the New England Patriots last week, their 21-point comeback sent them into the final three weeks with a shot at another division title. They must win one more game than the Patriots over the rest of the season, with one of New England’s losses coming to either the New York Jets or Miami Dolphins.
