Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers Sends Harsh 3-Word Message on New Helmet

After a disappointing stint with the New York Jets, which was derailed by an Achilles injury, superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers is getting a fresh start with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rodgers made a splash in his first game with the Steelers, throwing for four touchdowns in Week 1 against the Jets on the road. Pittsburgh got off to a good start and now heads overseas in Week 4 to take on the resurgent Minnesota Vikings, led by Carson Wentz, in Dublin, Ireland.

Although Rodgers seems to be in a good place with a team he can lead into the NFL playoffs with one of the best head coaches leading the way in Mike Tomlin, there is one thing bothering the four-time NFL MVP.

Aaron Rodgers Absolutely Hates His New Helmet

After playing two decades in the NFL, Rodgers, who will turn 42 in December, must adjust to a new helmet, and he has some thoughts about the change. The Steelers’ superstar quarterback didn’t hold back when asked about his new helmet.

“I hate it,” Rodgers said. “Hate it. I wore the one last year and had no concussions. Some arbitrary ruling that makes it obsolete now. It’s silly. I should’ve pushed it more. Just petition the league to let me wear it again. One more time.”

“Esetics, too. It looks terrible. Terrible. I saw a picture of myself. They put a graphic up because I passed [Brett] Favre for fourth, and it was a picture of me from 2012. I said, ‘Look at that.’ The helmet fits perfect. Tiny little earpads, facemask in the perfect spot.”

Despite whatever limitations and how “terrible” his new helmet is, the future Hall of Famer has played well in his first three games with his new squad.

Rodgers has thrown for 586 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions, resulting in two wins across the three games played.

Steelers Have a Chance to be a Force in the AFC North

The AFC North division is always as competitive as it gets in the NFL, with bitter division rivalries, star quarterbacks, legendary head coaches and at times, elite play on the defensive side of the football.

Although many believe that it is a foregone conclusion that Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens will run away with the division title with one of the most potent offenses in the NFL this season, John Harbaugh’s squad has the same record as the Cleveland Browns heading into Week 4 at 1-2.

That said, the Steelers have an opportunity to sit atop the division standings if they can keep winning games, especially with the Cincinnati Bengals recently losing Joe Burrow for the next three months due to a toe injury.

It all starts with the Vikings, who are coming off an impressive 48-point performance against the Bengals, with Wentz leading the way for Minnesota.

Even though Rodgers and Tomlin will be under a lot of pressure to succeed this season, T.J. Watt might be facing the most pressure to step up, with the Steelers’ defense being a disappointment so far.
