Megan Thee Stallion shared post-Turkey Day that she had the humble task of preparing Thanksgiving dinner for her boyfriend Klay Thompson and his legendary basketball family.
The three-time Grammy winner posted the experience to social media on Black Friday, in which the Dallas Mavericks forward rated her meal a perfect 10 out of 10.
Klay Thompson’s father, Los Angeles Lakers legend Mychal Thompson, broke the news on an ESPN radio show. He said Meg would be cooking and added, “All Black women are good cooks.”
“Mr. Thompson definitely said, ‘I could have easily have owned my own restaurant,’” Meg said. “But, I didn’t want to record him saying it because I was trying to be respectful.”

“I was really nervous cause I was like dang I’m really finna cook for my man and his whole family,” Meg said in the Instagram post. “I hope they love this because I got to show them that I really love their son.”
The rapper and songwriter said for the record, no one is competing with her homemade barbecue baked beans. “Ain’t nobody seeing me on barbecue baked beans,” she said. “If you want to have a conversation then let me know because I’m sure I win.”
The conclusion of the video shows a beautifully set Thanksgiving dinner table overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The Couple Have Been Dating Since July 2025
Thompson and Meg, born Megan Pete, revealed their relationship in discreet social media posts in early July, which was confirmed when they attended a gala together in New York City on July 16.
The two reportedly purchased a mansion together last month and Meg is often spotted at Mavs games next to Thompson’s mom, Julie.
Klay Thompson, Part of Storied ‘Splash Brothers,’ Starts Over in Texas
Thompson, now 35, is no longer a part of the “Splash Brothers” in Golden State after he was traded to the Mavs in 2024. He then moved to the 30-year-old’s native Texas.
The son of two successful athletes, Thompson won four championships with the Warriors and was a key part in the legendary dynasty in San Francisco that dominated the NBA in recent years. He also won a gold medal for Team USA at the 2016 Olympics.
He had a career altering knee injury during the NBA Finals in 2019 and his production has not quite been the same ever since. After the Warriors departed from several players (except Steph Curry and Draymond Green), Thompson was next to be moved. He then agreed on a $50 million deal with the Mavs.

This year, the Mavs (5-14) are considered one of the worst teams in the NBA. Thompson is averaging 10.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, on 21.6 minutes a game.
Earlier this month, the team fired general manager Nico Harrison, who orchestrated the the trade that sent Luka Dončić to the Lakers. Somehow, the Mavs won the draft lottery, though, and picked Duke’s Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick.
