The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders in a meaningless matchup in Week 18. It’s new territory for the Chiefs as it’s the first time they haven’t clinched a playoff berth in 10 seasons.
For Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, this matchup, his 192nd career game, could be his last. “I feel motivated, but I’ve got to make the right decision for me,” the NFL Future Hall of Famer told Tony Gonzalez of possible retirement in a Prime Video interview last month.
“I gotta hope that if I do wanna come back, that the Chiefs are willing to bring me back. It’s a two-way street on that.”

Kelce’s two-year, $34.25 million contract expires when the 2025-26 season comes to an end. While all eyes were on the seven-time All-Pro selection as he took the field at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, big news regarding his fiancée, Taylor Swift, drew attention from fans.

Chartdata announced amid the Chiefs-Raiders matchup, “Taylor Swift was the #1 best-selling artist in the US in 2025, with 14.1 million total album units sold.”
One fan commented, “LEGENDARY QUEEN.” Another person posted, “The greatest all time.”
Swift is also the No. 1 best-selling artist in the U.K. in 2025, BBC reported earlier this week. The news shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Not only did Swift reclaim her masters last year, regaining ownership of her first six albums, she also released a new record, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which has now spent 12 total weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Chart.
The latest single off the album, “Opalite,” inspired by Kelce and his birthstone, made history one day before the Chiefs’ Week 7 matchup, becoming the fastest non-single in history to reach 100 million streams on Spotify.
The pop star looks to have a very successful 2026, as well. She earned a nomination for the Songwriters Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility.
Travis Kelce & Taylor Swift’s Wedding Plans are ‘Coming Along’
While Kelce’s future in the NFL remains a question mark, his personal life is set after proposing to Swift in August. Wedding plans are “coming along,” a source told US Weekly in October.
“They are both [very] involved, and Taylor thinks it’s cute that Travis wants to help. With the couple on the same page when it comes to kids, they “very much want to start a family in the next year or so. Family means everything to them.” The star-studded wedding is expected to take place this summer. “They don’t want a long engagement.”
Swift opened up about their relationship in her Disney docuseries, “The End of an Era,” noting how her mother, Andrea Swift, encouraged her to date Kelce after he famously called her out on his “New Heights” podcast.
“You call me up with this tone of, like, ‘Hey, so I know you’re gonna not react well to this. But there’s a guy,” Swift recalls to her mother. “You said something to the effect of, like, ‘You’ve got to start doing something different.’”
Andrea had already done her research, calling her cousin Robin, who’s a big Chiefs fan. “She said, ‘Oh, my God. He’s the nicest guy. And you know what? He really loves his mom, [Donna Kelce],’” Andrea said. “I went, ‘Ding, ding, ding, ding. Now, how in the world am I gonna get [Swift] to meet him?’”
