Taylor Swift News Breaks Amid Chiefs Loss

The Kansas City Chiefs just took another hard regular-season loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 16, at Empower Field at Mile High, and that kicks their record to 5-5 for the 2025-26 season. The Chiefs are now No. 3 in the AFC West, behind the Broncos and No. 1 and Chargers at No. 2, which is not a spot they’re used to being.

Taylor Swift wasn’t at the Broncos game, since it was an away game and she usually stays home for those due to security concerns. But, the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Colts on Sunday, November 23, and Swift is expected to be there, since she rarely miss a home game and the chance to see her soon-to-be-husband Travis Kelce on the field.

When she’s not planning her wedding with Kelce or watching him play games, Swift, of course, has her own very successful career as a musician. She released her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3. When she released the set, the album marked the biggest debut for an album on the Billboard 200 chart ever, moving more than 4 million album units. It also broke the record for the most vinyl albums sold in a single week, with 1.2 million copies, according to research from Billboard.

Now, Billboard has reported that Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a sixth straight week, dated November 22, according to Billboard’s research. “The set earned 110,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Nov. 13 (down 8%), according to Luminate,” Billboard reports.

“The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate,” according to Billboard.

More Kudos for Taylor Swift

It’s not just the Billboard 200, either. Taylor Swift has been on top of the Hot 100 chart, Billboard’s official ranking of the biggest songs in America, for an entire month with her single “The Fate of Ophelia.” It’s become one of her biggest hits, and the fact that Swift is still making milestones years after her first hit is a testament to her staying power.

“The Fate of Ophelia” has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for five straight weeks and has also become the third Swift single to stay that high on the chart for so long. Last week, “The Fate of Ophelia” was tied with “Shake It Off” and “Cruel Summer” for the amount of time spent at No. 1. But, now, the song has become one of Swift’s third-longest-running No. 1s ever, according to Billboard, and both “Cruel Summer” and “Shake It Off” are tied for fourth-longest-running toppers.

“The Life of a Showgirl” has gotten good reviews, to boot. Not that Swift needs them, but it’s still nice. “Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ combines new, exciting sonic turns with incisive storytelling,” Rolling Stone says in its review of the album. Maya Georgi of Rolling Stone adds, “On her 12th studio album, Swift hits all her marks — from new, exciting sonic turns to incisive storytelling.”
