Taylor Swift News Surfaces Amid Chiefs-Cowboys Game

The Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys have a pivotal game against each other on Thanksgiving Day. Taylor Swift is engaged to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, of course, and even though she’s not expected to be at the game since it’s an away game, she’s making news anyway.

What makes this Chiefs and Cowboys game so crucial is that both teams have a lot on the line. The Kansas City Chiefs’ record going into this game is 6-5, while the Dallas Cowboys are 5-5-1, so they’re pretty much even when it comes to where they stand in the NFL at this point in the season.

Because this game is so important, and also because both franchises are powerhouses, viewership research estimates that this game could fetch 50 million viewers, which would be higher than the current NFL record of 42.1 million from Thanksgiving Day 2022, when the New York Giants went up against the Dallas Cowboys.

So, this is an important game for Swift to miss. But, she has security concerns, which is understandable. She’s also still busy promoting her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which arrived on October 3. That’s where her big news comes in, and it’s quite a Thanksgiving treat.

Taylor Swift Makes News Alongside the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys Game

Swift keeps making history. While Swift is known for her top 40 music, her single “The Fate of Ophelia” has risen a spot to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Airplay chart dated November 29. The song has become her 14th top song on the tally, which is the most among soloists, according to research from Billboard. Also, the song became the highest debuting song in the chart’s history at No. 8 back on October 18.

“The Fate of Ophelia” took down Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” after that song was on top of the Adult Pop Airplay chart for 25 weeks. The song also tied Santana’s “Smooth” featuring Rob Thomas for the longest No. 1 run in the chart’s entire history.

“The Fate of Ophelia” is also still on top of the pop airplay chart for a second week and the Billboard Hot 100 for a seventh week. The entire album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” is also on top of the Billboard 200 for a seventh week.

Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ Has Already Pushed Millions of Streams

According to Luminate data and research, “The Fate of Ophelia” had 26.2 million official streams and 62.2 million radio airplay audience impressions in the past week. It also sold 25,000 units in the United States during the tracking week ended November 13.

When Swift first released the album, the record marked the biggest debut for an album on the Billboard 200 chart ever, pushing more than 4 million album units. It also broke the record for the most vinyl albums sold in a single week, with 1.2 million copies, according to research from Billboard.

“The Fate of Ophelia” is Swift’s third song to that’s been able to be on top of the Billboard 100 chart for at least six weeks. Her other songs that have accomplished that are “Anti-Hero” and “Blank Space,” which topped that chart for 8 weeks, and 7 weeks, respectively. So, Swift has a lot to celebrate on Thanksgiving, whether the Chiefs win or not.
