The Houston Texans have undergone another roster shakeup ahead of their Week 11 showdown against the Tennessee Titans, this time bringing in newcomers KâVon Wallace and Layne Pryor.
The Texans also made key decisions on Cade Stover and Myles Bryant. While Stover is returning from an injury, the Texansâ injury situation forced them into the decision on Bryant.
This all comes amid another lengthy injury report for the 3-5 squad.
Former Eagles Draft Pick Joins Banged-Up Texansâ Secondary
GettyK’Von Wallace #24 of the Seattle Seahawks looks on before the game against the New York Giants.
Wallace was the No. 127 overall pick of the 2020 draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, and he has also had stints with the Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and the Seattle Seahawks before finding his way to the Texans.
Wallace was teammates with Texans practice squad safety Jalen Mills in Philadelphia during the 2020 season.
He beat out two other players for his shot at the Texansâ roster.
â#Texans are signing veteran defensive back KâVon Wallace to the practice squad following a successful workout that included Brandon Hill and Beanie Bishop, per a league source,â KPRC 2âs Aaron Wilson reported on X on November 12.
The 28-year-old arrives with 168 total tackles, 8 pass deflections, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and 1 recovery in his career.
He has logged 19 starts in 71 career games and plays special teams.
Texansâ Secondary Depleted

Wallaceâs addition comes amid various injuries to the Texansâ secondary. Pryor fills the void left after the decision to sign Bryant to their 53-man roster. Bryant is taking the spot of the player he replaced in the lineup in Week 10, M.J. Stewart.
The Texans officially placed Stewart on injured reserve due to a torn quad suffered in Week 10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Rookie corner Jaylin Smith underwent surgery for a season-ending injury on Wednesday.
Moreover, starting nickelback Jalen Pitre began the week as a non-participant in practice, while the Texans remain without Jimmie Ward, who is on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, and could be done for the season.
Texans Add Small-School Product Before Titans Game

After the Texans signed Pryor, the undrafted rookie free agentâs alma mater, the University of Northern Iowa, told him to âpack your bags because you are going to Houstonâ on X.
CBS Sports noted the transaction, writing, âHe could provide additional depth at tight end if called upon, as both Dalton Schultz (shoulder) and Harrison Bryant (neck) are currently dealing with injuries.â
Pryor finished his collegiate career with 52 receptions, 484 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
Injuries have been a constant theme of the Texansâ season, and tight end has been hit harder than most positions.
Texans TE Room in Flux
GettyCade Stover #87 of the Houston Texans celebrates a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans.
The Texans have cycled through options in Brevin Jordan, who is on season-ending injured reserve, and Dalton Keene, whom the team released from the practice squad last week.
The Texans also have former Iowa tight end and rookie UDFA Luke Lachey on their practice squad. He could get the call against the Titans, given his experience in the Texansâ system. Stover was designated for return from the foot injury that has sidelined him since Week 1.
That does not mean Stover will play in Week 11.
Instead, the Texans now have 21 days to determine whether they will activate Stover from IR. If not, he will stay on IR for the season.
