Texas’ Head Coach Snaps On Reporter Speculating On Arch Manning Injury

More trouble in paradise as the preseason Heisman favorite, Arch Manning, has become the subject of public discussion after a viral video that appears to show the young gun slinger wincing in pain after releasing a bad pass has gone viral.

The video is from the Texas Longhorns’ 38-7 victory over the San Jose State University Spartans Saturday afternoon.

Arch completed 19 of his 30 pass attempts, totaling just under 300 yards through the air and adding four touchdowns. He punched one in on the ground as well, and an ugly interception was the only sour note on an otherwise perfect home opener.

Well that and the entire internet freaking out over an unconfirmed shoulder injury.

The one video that has the internet up in arms is just one instance of the junior dirting what should be a relatively routine throw for a five star SEC quarterback. Some fans have used side by side videos that showcase a dip in arm strength from 2024 to 2025.

However, head coach Steve Sarkisian isn’t having any of it when it comes to the injury speculation.

Sark Snaps On Reporter

It’s impossible to know for sure if Sark had seen the internet’s speculation before sitting down in front of the media Monday afternoon. But one things for certain, he didn’t want to hear any of it.

“Arch Manning seemed to be having some shoulder pains by the four-,” a reporter asked.

“According to who?” Sark interrupts.

“Arch..,” the reporter responds.

“Arch said that to you?” Sark asks.

“No… it just looked like he was..,” the reporter continued before being interrupted once more.

“He doesn’t have any,” Sark repeated. “I don’t know, I’ve never filmed any of you guys when you’re using the bathroom so I don’t know any of the faces you guys make when you’re doing that.”

Sark has gone viral multiple times in his previous years at the podium for lying to the faces of reporters, so time will tell if this is the latest installment.

But as it stands, the 21-year-old is a full participant in all football activities ahead of what should be two more tune up games against UTEP and Sam Houston State before SEC play begins.

Former NFL QB Diagnoses Arch’s Injury

Former NFL quarterback turned media personality, Kurt Benkert, had a very animated Twitter rant about Texas’ signal caller potentially dealing with an injury.

“You know how many clowns on the internet ripped me for ‘diagnosing’ him with a should injury because I’m ‘not a doctor’? When did we lose the ability to think for ourselves, deduce what we see, and have a common sense conversation?” Benkert wrote in an X post.

The former Packer has made his thoughts known since the season opener in which he tweeted that Arch “definitely” had a shoulder injury and accused the team of hiding it. When the video went viral, he doubled down. And just a few hours ago, after Sark made his comments, Benkert provided yet another personal anecdote.
