The PGA Tour Gives Tiger Woods ‘Full Support’ After Being Arrested for DUI

Following his arrest on Friday, March 27, 202 for suspicion of driving under the influence of substances which cause impairment when drivers get behind the wheel of a vehicle, famed golfer Tiger Woods has been heavily in the spotlight with intense criticism directed his way.

From analysts dissecting the impact of the arrest – which is  his second DUI arrest – to fans and observers expressing criticism of Woods choosing to drive yet again while impaired by what is believed to be a combination of controlled opioid and benzodiazepine prescription medications, the commentary around the events from last Friday that saw the golfer arrested and booked into the Martin County Jail shortly after causing a two-car rollover accident by driving significantly above the designated speed limi has been anything but positive – until now, that is.

On the X account designated for the organization’s communication team, the PGA Tour issued an official statement on the recent events and legal happenings involving Tiger Woods. The statement from the greater collective governing body was followed by a second statement issued by Brian Rolapp, President of the PGA Tour. The messages in the two issued communications briefs were shocking to many fans, analysts, and observers alike due to the seemingly positive support the PGA Tour organization and their leadership are offering to Woods following what commentators have deemed ‘reckless endangerment’ and ‘irresponsible behavior.’

Speaking out for the first time since his encounter with law enforcement near Jupiter Island, Florida – where the golfer has a primary residence – Tiger Woods released his own communications statement on his X account. Aside from being photographed shortly after he was bailed out of the Martin County Jail, this was the first engagement with the public and mainstream media that Woods has had since the day of his arrest on  Friday, March 27, 2026.
