Titans Fans Rejoice as $76 Million CB Receives Promising Update Ahead of Week 1

For the first time in forever, the Tennessee Titans will see their $76 million cornerback at practice. While the team will be in no rush to get him back to speed, the 28-year-old has long awaited this moment.

Tennessee’s premier CB played just five games after landing a massive second contract. The Kansas City Chiefs dealt with minor injury issues at the beginning of his career in 2020. Now, the LA Tech graduate is ready to get back on the field.

L’Jarius Sneed Finally Comes off PUP List

Brian Callahan has long waited for this moment in Tennessee. His job is in danger, as the team nearly decided to let him go last season. Now, he has the No. 1 overall pick and a premier cornerback in his back pocket.

L’Jarius Sneed last saw NFL action on October 13, 2024. A grueling, lengthy injury recover process resulted in August 20, 2025 marking his first day at practice. Tennessee remained hopeful that Sneed would return to action last season as it took over a month before he went on injured reserve.

At the time of the injury, Sneed was heartbroken, “It’s been challenging for me that I can’t get out there coming into my first year with the organization to make a name for myself here and get respect.”

It took a 2024 7th round pick and a 2025 3rd rounder to land Sneed. Upon securing him, they locked him down to the four-year, $76 million deal. So far, that contract hasn’t gone according to plan. Ultimately, the team is going to prioritize his long term health to get the most out of the contract.

Titans Fans Thrilled as Brian Callahan Was Hesitant on His Recovery

Two months ago, Sneed said he’s, “as healthy as I’ve been” while Callahan refused to let that mindset get the best of him. Titans fans saw how capable Sneed was when he racked up 23 total tackles in the five games he played last season. Knowing how much he has left to prove, he was able to get over the first hump by reporting to practice.

Josh Alper published a story the morning of August 20 where Callahan said, “Maybe we’ll see where he’s at tomorrow. I think, one more time. There’s a chance that it happens pretty soon.” Ultimately, it happened that same day.

Callahan’s outlook was realistic as Sneed is far too valuable of a player to lose once again. Knowing his job as a head coach is on the line, he’ll need Sneed for the duration of the season to secure more than three wins.

“Go get’em LJ,” this Chiefs fan said in support of Sneed. Another comment read, “We sneed him,” in a play on words. One fan wrote, “Great update for the Titans! L’Jarius Sneed clearing his physical and joining practice, even in a limited role, is a big boost for their secondary.”

“Getting a proven corner back on the field changes everything for Tennessee’s defense. Sneed knows what championship preparation looks like from Kansas City— that experience doesn’t show up on stat sheets, but it shows up when games get tight. Titans needed this,” someone said.

The likelihood of Sneed participating in the team’s preseason finale is slim, though that depends on how he looks in practice this week. With the regular season right around the corner, it wouldn’t make sense for Callahan to take any unnecessary risks on his $76M man.
