Tom Brady Makes Dak Prescott Announcement After Cowboys Dominate Commanders

Dak Prescott had himself a day as the Dallas Cowboys dominated the Washington Commanders, and Tom Brady had a front row seat in the Fox broadcast booth. Dallas cruised to a 44-22 victory over Washington as the Commanders defense had no answers for slowing down Prescott and the Cowboys offense.

After the Cowboys’ win, Brady named Prescott his “LFG Player of the Game.” Each week, Brady delivers this award to the best player of the game during his broadcast.

Prescott made Brady’s decision easy with an epic performance against the team’s NFC East rival. The Cowboys quarterback threw for 264 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 70% of his passes versus the Commanders.

“You keep throwing the ball as accurately as you did, and you keep feeding that open guy, you’re going to be tough to beat,” Brady told Prescott while presenting the Cowboys quarterback with the award on October 19, 2025. “Way to go. Congratulations. Enjoy the win.”

Dak Prescott on Cowboys’ Win vs. Commanders: ‘We Came Out Here & We Celebrated’

The Cowboys offense looked even more potent with CeeDee Lamb returning to action. With Lamb and George Pickens sharing the field, opposing defenses are finding it challenging to stop. Brady asked Prescott about why the quarterback remains confidence in his team.

“Just the work that I put into this, going back personally to the offseason, but then as a team from the spring into training camp,” Prescott explained. “Then when you’ve got two pass catchers like CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, understand that CeeDee was going to be back tonight. It was a great week of practice.

“We came out here and we celebrated and had a great time on the field and that’s what we’re supposed to do.”

Tom Brady Grew Up Hating the Cowboys: ‘I’ve Really Not Liked the Cowboys Since Coming Out of the Womb’

Brady’s comments on Prescott and the Cowboys are even more interesting given the legendary quarterback has been open about his longtime hatred of Dallas. The star grew up a San Francisco 49ers fan but now finds himself calling many of the Cowboys games as part of Fox’s lead broadcast crew.

“I’ve really not liked the Cowboys since coming out of the womb,” Brady said back in Nov. 2019, per ESPN. “I’ve got a lot of respect for those guys. They’ve had a great winning organization, and a lot of great players in their history. As a Niners fan, you play the Cowboys, and every time they’d hand off to Emmitt Smith it would be a 5-yard gain and you’d pull your hair out.

“Throw it up to Michael Irvin, and Troy [Aikman] was such a great player. The defense — Ken Norton and ‘Prime Time’ [Deion Sanders]. So the history of great players, the tradition.”

Cowboys HC Brian Schottenheimer on Win: ‘That Was Complementary Football’

As an analyst, Brady appears to have no problem giving Prescott and the Cowboys their flowers. The Cowboys offense deserves a lot of credit, but the Dallas defense showed a lot of improvement from how the unit has started the season.

“Hey, last thing I got. Listen up. That was complementary football,” Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer told the team in his postgame locker room speech. “Defense, I am so [expletive] proud of you guys. We kicked a– today. Proud of you guys.”
