Toronto Blue Jays Receive High Praise for Their Electric Level of Play

The Toronto Blue Jays have taken Major League Baseball by storm this season. After being predicted to finish fourth in the American League East before the season, the Jays have now captured a four-game lead in the division and are putting their competition in the rearview.

There’s still a long way to go before the end of September, but Toronto’s offense is on a heater right now, as they are fresh off a series with the Colorado Rockies where they outscored their opponent 45-6, and collected 63 hits in a series, which is the most in a three-game set since 1900.

Toronto Receives Impressive Accolade for Being ‘Most Watchable’ Team

The Toronto Blue Jays haven’t won the American League East since 2015, and in recent years, they have had the talent but have just been unable to finish the job or sustain their success into October. In a tough division usually dominated by the New York Yankees or the Boston Red Sox, the Jays can often be overlooked, and this seems to be the year that the baseball world is truly taking them seriously.

In a recent post by Bleacher Report, the Blue Jays were ranked as one of baseball’s ‘Most-Watchable Teams’ and came in at No. 4 on the list:

“The Blue Jays won at least 16 games every month from May-July, including going a scalding-hot 18-8 during the month of July, catapulting them into the top spot in the American League East. Toronto’s plus-55 run differential is still only the third-highest mark in their division, but in a wide-open AL, they seem to have as realistic a shot to make a deep run as anyone.”

The article by Bleacher Report also gave some noteworthy reasons why Toronto has emerged as one of baseball’s most exciting teams. Bo Bichette is quietly becoming one of the top hit collectors in MLB, as he’s now up to 143 on the season, which is the top mark in baseball. Bichette is also in a contract year, which should give him some extra motivation down the stretch.

The Blue Jays Quietly Have One of the Best Rotations

When you take into consideration that the Toronto Blue Jays have won at least 16 games in every month since May, there’s a lot to be said about the consistency of their starting rotation. Kevin Gausman and Chris Bassitt lead the rotation, but they have nice depth pieces in Jose Berrios and Eric Lauer. In a deeper playoff run, the Blue Jays could be set with their rotation, and they also acquired Shane Bieber, who could also be an option down the stretch.

Toronto is now aiming for the American League’s top seed, which would avoid the Wild Card series. They’ve cut off dead weight by releasing Chad Green and added another leverage arm in Louis Varland. And it would be hard not to mention Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who is putting together another stellar season.

There was speculation that manager John Schneider and general manager Ross Atkins could be on the hot seat before this season, but both may receive a nice extension if the Blue Jays can win the division and make noise in the playoffs. With star players like Bichette and Guerrero Jr. putting together impressive seasons, those are the type of contributions needed if they want to have success in October.
