Before the Kansas City Chiefs‘ season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, September 5, the team celebrated the premiere of their ESPN docuseries, “The Kingdom.”
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce walked the red carpet at the event, as did his parents, Donna and Ed Kelce. While Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, appears in the series, she did not attend the show’s premiere in Kansas City.
However, “The Kingdom” director Kristen Lappas told People Swift was “very supportive” of the six-episode series and “approved all of her images and likeness.”
While Swift was not interviewed for “The Kingdom,” she recently appeared on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his older brother, Jason Kelce. After not giving an interview for nearly two years, the 35-year-old was incredibly candid about her relationship and career during the show.
Swift not only announced the release date (October 3) of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and the names of the 12-song track list, but she also spoke about her first date with Travis, falling in love with the tight end, her “granny” hobbies, and more.
Donna loved it. “I think it was just really, really eventful,” she told People at “The Kingdom” premiere. “It was authentic. It was just something I think everybody was thrilled to see, and it was a very loving podcast.”
‘New Heights’ Made It Into The Guinness World Records Following Taylor Swift’s Podcast Appearance
Swift’s appearance on “New Heights” drew record-breaking viewership numbers. The show’s official X account posted on Tuesday, August 26, “NEW NEWS… we’re officially Guinness World Record holders 👀.”
Guinness World Records reported, “With a total of 1.3 million, it pulled in the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube on 13 August. At the time of writing, the episode ‘Taylor Swift on Reclaiming Her Masters, Wrapping The Eras Tour, and The Life of a Showgirl’ has been viewed more than 20 million times on the platform.
“The two-hour long episode was a real rarity for fans. It’s been years since Taylor has sat down for an interview this in-depth.”
Swifties couldn’t believe the record-breaking number came in at 1.3 million, as the singer’s lucky number is 13. Swift, of course, is no stranger to seeing her name in the Guinness World Records.
“The Tortured Poets Department,” which she released in April 2024, became the most-streamed album on Spotify in 24 hours (313.7 million) and has the most one-day streams of an album on Spotify. The “Eras Tour,” which she closed out in December 2024 after two years on the road, became the highest-grossing tour of all time with over $2 billion in ticket sales.
