Travis Kelce Has 4 Words for Taylor Swift’s New Album

It’s been a big week for Taylor Swift, the soon-to-be-wife of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Swift, of course, released her new album, “Life of a Showgirl,” on Friday, October 3, and she’s been doing the press rounds in support of the album.

Because of the album, Swift wasn’t at the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Monday Night Football game on October 6, where they fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was also an away game, which is another reason she didn’t attend. But, she was certainly on the mind of Kelce during the game, and she was likely thinking about him during her interview appearances.

Well, Kelce is finally letting his feelings known about Swift’s new album and especially her song, “Wood,” which is reportedly about Kelce. On his “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason, he revealed his true feelings about it all.

Travis Kelce Announces His Feelings on Taylor Swift Song

During the podcast, Jason asked Travis, “How do you feel about ‘Wood?’” Travis had a four-word reply, stating, “It’s a great song.”

Jason asked, “Do you feel. I’m trying to think of the word… not confident… Do you feel cocky about the song ‘Wood?’” he asked.

“No,” Travis responded. “Any song that she references me in is very…” But, Jason cut him off, saying, “That’s not just any song. This is a very specific you.”

Travis simply said, “I love that girl, so what do you mean? Any song that she would reference me in that way…”

From there, Jason had some fun with Travis about the true meaning of the song, but in general, you get the vibe that Travis is absolutely in love with not only Swift but her new album, too.

Glowing Reviews for Taylor Swift

Swift’s album is out, and the reviews are really great. Of course, not every review is stellar, but the ones that matter are solid. Besides, Swift doesn’t even need good reviews at this point.

“Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ combines new, exciting sonic turns with incisive storytelling,” Rolling Stone says in its review of the album. Maya Georgi of Rolling Stone adds, “On her 12th studio album, Swift hits all her marks — from new, exciting sonic turns to incisive storytelling.”

Pitchfork says in their Friday, October 3, review of the set that while much of the album “sounds like much of the pop music you have heard over the past 10 years and throughout your lifetime; it asks that this time, you listen more closely, because this is Taylor Swift, with the enormity of commercial power and cultural significance and algorithmic rank that implies.”

They add, “‘In my industry, attention is affection,’ Swift says in her video commentary introducing ‘Actually Romantic.’ That’s the showgirl’s job: making you pay attention. It’s working, and if this is the only pop album you hear this year, maybe it’s good enough.”

As for those not-so-good reviews, as the BBC point out, “tepid reviews didn’t matter. Spotify declared it their most-streamed album in a single day. In the UK, it enjoyed the biggest first-week sales in seven years. Right now, it seems nothing can damage Swift.”

So, Swift is on top of the world right now, and Kelce is right there with her, by her side.
