According to the Locked on Podcast Network, the Cincinnati Bengals have two of the top ten players in the National Football League. One can likely predict which two they are as Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen topped the list.
While the list received a ton of backlash, the podcast network went through and ranked the leagues Top 100 players. Some surprising names were on the list, as Travis Hunter, who has yet to play an NFL snap, ranked at No. 67.
Joe Burrow is Ranked No. 5 with Ja’Marr Chase at No. 7
Joe Burrow keeps his name in the mix of top quarterbacks in the league, but he can’t seem to get past the likes of Jackson, Mahomes, and Allen. Even though his numbers were off the chart last season, it was only the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills QB’s in consideration for the MVP award as the Bengals failed to make the playoffs.

These rankings are always subjective as everyone values things differently. Burrow’s talent may mean a lot more to someone who only looks at statistics compared to team wins. Jalen Hurts winning the Super Bowl doesn’t immediately make him a Top 10 player in the league as it’s clear he had the best talent around him, but wasn’t the best quarterback.
Regardless, Ja’Marr Chase sits below Justin Jefferson in this set of rankings. This list came out shortly after Chase was named the No. 1 receiver in the league by NFL coaches, scouts, and executives. Obviously, they are a lot more qualified to rank players than podcast hosts, but the issue remains the same.
Cincinnati was the only team with two of the Top 10 players, but that doesn’t mean much at the end of the day if they fail to make the playoffs. Back to back 9-8 seasons isn’t going to cut it as Burrow and Chase have a Super Bowl appearance on their resume, but haven’t been in the playoffs since 2022.
Analyzing the Rankings
Minnesota Vikings fans would argue otherwise, but it’s hard to justify putting Jefferson ahead of Chase after he won the Triple Crown last season. His numbers last season were off the charts, and more than proved his worth as he signed a $161 million deal. Jeffersons’ 2025 season will be interesting as his chemistry with J.J. McCarthy will be put to the test.
Those two receivers were the only ones to grace the Top 10, as the next receiver was A.J. Brown at No. 16. In total, the Bengals have three Top 20 players according to Locked on Podcasts. Trey Hendrickson was ranked No. 20. If the Bengals can work out his contract, they’ll be a force to be reckoned with in the 2025 season.
Is Joe Burrow the NFL’s 4th Best QB?
It’s no secret that Mahomes hasn’t been himself, but that didn’t prevent him from making another Super Bowl appearance. It’s hard to argue that he’s not a Top 3 QB in the league, with some still placing him at No. 1.
Burrow has yet to win an MVP award, but he led the league in passing yards and touchdowns last season. He seems to be getting better and better every season, which is a dangerous sight for the NFL. If the Bengals can put everything together, they clearly have the talent to do some damage in the 2025 season.
