UFC President Dana White Reveals His Top NASCAR Race – And It’s Not What You’d Expect

Dana White shared his pick for the biggest race from a casual fan’s view during an appearance on SPEED on FOX with Kevin Harvick. The discussion focused on three well-known events: the Daytona 500, the Indianapolis 500, and racing at Talladega Superspeedway.

White, who said he follows racing as a casual fan, pointed to Talladega based on his personal experience there. The conversation offered a simple look at how fans outside the sport view major races, with White focusing on atmosphere and what stands out from attending an event in person.

Dana White Picks Talladega Experience

Harvick asked White to name the biggest race from a casual fan’s point of view.

“From a casual race fan’s perspective, what’s the biggest race in the world? What’s the one that you say, ‘I hear about that race a lot?’” Harvick said.

White listed a few events before giving his answer.

“I hear about a lot. I mean, I hear about Daytona, I hear about Talladega,” White said. “Yeah, I’d say Talladega.”

Harvick explained that answers often vary depending on the audience.

“Well, I mean, it can be anything. The IndyCar guys are going to say it’s the Indy 500. The NASCAR guys are going to say it’s the Daytona 500. So it’s an open-ended question. It’s always a unique answer.”

He then pointed to what makes Talladega different.

“For you, you’ve got that Talladega experience, and there is nothing like the Talladega experience. From the infield or the event, it feels like going back in time.”

White agreed and described his visit.

“The experience that me and my kids had at Talladega was incredible. It was one of those things I’ll never forget,” White said. “First time I drank moonshine was at Talladega.”

Comparison with the Daytona 500 and Indy 500

The discussion included other major races often seen as the biggest in motorsports. The Daytona 500 is known as NASCAR’s main event and opens the Cup Series season each year. It draws large audiences and wide media coverage.

The Indianapolis 500 is one of the oldest races in the world, first held in 1911. It features international drivers and attracts a large global audience.

Harvick noted that different groups will choose different races based on their background. Some focus on history and global reach, while others look at the race-day experience.

Talladega Superspeedway Stands Out for Fan Atmosphere

Talladega Superspeedway is known for its high-speed racing and large crowds. The track hosts pack racing on a high-banked oval, which often leads to close finishes.

The venue is also known for its infield area, where fans gather during race weekends. Many attend for the full event experience, which includes camping and social activities alongside the race.

White’s comments focused on that setting and the memories he created during his visit. His choice showed how personal experience can shape fans’ views of major races.

The conversation on SPEED on FOX continues to draw attention as fans compare the three events. It highlights how different factors, including history, competition, and atmosphere, all play a role in how people define the biggest race.
