The Golden State Warriors haven’t made a single move this offseason. Not a trade. Not a signing. Not a splash.
But that could change soon.
According to multiple reports, Malcolm Brogdon, the 6-foot-4 former Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year, has surfaced as a serious free agent target for the Warriors — one of several contending teams still in the mix.
“Another name worth mentioning that was connected to the Dubs in Las Vegas is Malcolm Brogdon,” wrote Brett Siegel on Monday afternoon.
“The former Sixth Man of the Year has held out in free agency to this point despite multiple suitors contacting him in recent weeks.”
Warriors Eyeing Veteran Help for Curry, Butler, and Green
At 32, Brogdon remains one of the more coveted names left on the market. The former Rookie of the Year (2017) and Sixth Man of the Year (2023) is known for his poise, shot selection, and efficiency.
In short: he’s everything the Warriors are missing right now in a second-unit lead guard.
Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green are all pushing for another title run — but the front office has yet to deliver meaningful help.
Jake Fischer also named Golden State, Sacramento, New Orleans, and Minnesota as teams with “plenty of interest” in Brogdon.
“I don’t think Milwaukee is still a landing spot for him,” Fischer said. “But teams like Sacramento, New Orleans, Minnesota, [and] Golden State… still have plenty of interest.”
Brogdon Could Offer Stability Behind Podziemski
Last season, the Washington Wizards acquired Brogdon from the Portland Trail Blazers in the Deni Avdija deal. In 24 games, he averaged 12.7 points and 5.5 assists on 43.3% shooting — solid numbers, though a step back from his peak.
Still, his veteran presence and ability to run an offense make him a logical target for the Warriors, especially with Brandin Podziemski expected to take on a bigger role next season.
If Brogdon takes a minimum deal, he could be the steady second-unit presence the Warriors need — someone who can manage the offense and hit shots without disrupting the flow.
The Fit Makes Sense — But Will the Warriors Act?

Getty Jimmy Butler III, Draymond Green and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors huddle during a game.
There are no guarantees. Brogdon still has a market. And the Warriors are notoriously slow-moving when it comes to veterans.
But as Curry, Butler, and Green chase one more ring, the clock is ticking.
And Malcolm Brogdon might just be the right piece at the right price.
