The cold weather to impact the football schedule, with a number of games on Saturday called off due to unfit conditions.

The freezing temperatures have hit football grounds across the country and some pitches are not ready to be played on as a result.

There is no Premier League action this weekend, but fixtures in the FA Cup, League One, League Two and the National League have all been hit by the extreme cold.

Two FA Cup ties, so far, have been postponed from their Saturday slots, with Mansfield hosting Wigan and Preston taking on Charlton at Deepdale having to be delayed.

Both fixtures have already been quickly rearranged and will take place on Tuesday 14 January instead.

In League One, in-form Barnsley’s trip to Northampton has been postponed, as has Shrewsbury hosting Huddersfield.

Two games in League Two have also had to be delayed, with Carlisle vs MK Done and Port Vale vs Barrow affected.
