Jack Grealish was dropped for Everton’s 3-1 win over Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup for a breach of club discipline.
Goals from James Garner, Hayden Hackney and Thierno Barry sealed the victory for Everton in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Thursday night, and the Toffees will now play Fleetwood Town in the quarter final.
However, Grealish, who missed the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League last Saturday due to illness, was not included in David Moyes’ squad for the Carabao Cup tie at the Hill Dickinson Stadium due to a disciplinary issue.
It is understood that Grealish has been disciplined by Everton for an unauthorised absence from training.

The Times report that Grealish now faces a ‘hefty fine’ for his conduct.
‘Well, you probably know I am not going to give any details and it is a club decision,’ Moyes said after Everton’s win over Newcastle.
‘I support the decision but it’s a club decision. It is something I don’t want to speak too much about. I feel as if the club are the people you should go to if you are looking for more on it.’
Everton’s press officer then intervened when Moyes was asked whether Grealish would be included in Everton’s squad for their Premier League game against Newcastle at St James’ Park on Monday night.
Grealish re-joined Everton in the summer transfer window on a second successive loan from Manchester City, a move which has cost the Toffees around £12 million per season.
The 31-year-old, who was signed in a £100m deal from Aston Villa in 2021, will see his contract with City expire at the end of the season.
