Brentford star Yoane Wissa wants to leave the club this summer despite the club being willing to open talks over a new deal, according to reports.

Newcastle United, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are all attempting to sign the DR Congo international before the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Bees, understandably, want to keep hold of the 28-year-old forward, especially with Bryan Mbeumo expected to move to Manchester United.

But the BBC report that Wissa – who scored 20 goals last term across all competitions – would prefer a move away from Brentford this summer.

Wissa’s decision comes after Stuart Pearce claimed that United were ‘looking’ to sign the player before the new Premier League season starts.

‘Man Utd and Arsenal looking at Yoane Wissa’

‘There’s no doubt Manchester United and Arsenal would have been looking at Wissa,’ Pearce told BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League odds, earlier this week.

‘When you look at the season he had last year, he was magnificent. The goals he’s delivered while playing with width and playing down the middle as well.

‘That’s a major asset for any football club and the fact that Nottingham Forest have moved the odd player on recently, along with other sides in the division, you would think that by the time the season starts, he might well have moved on [from Brentford].’

‘Noni Madueke to Arsenal is a good deal’

Meanwhile, Peace has also shared his thoughts on Arsenal’s £50m deal to sign Noni Madueke, which was officially announced on Friday.

Madueke has been forced to deal with somewhat of a toxic reaction from some Arsenal fans, who are adamant the club have made a big mistake.

Peace, though, feels it’s a positive move for the Gunners.

‘If Noni Madueke rips it up for Arsenal, £50million will look very cheap, make no mistake about that,’ he added.

‘I think at the moment, both teams can lay claim to having a good deal, he’s 23-years-old so £50million in the run of things gives Arsenal another dimension as well.

‘From Chelsea’s point of view, if they stop piling too many players to recoup £50m, I think both teams have got a decent deal. Sometimes that happens. It’s not always one’s got a good deal, one’s got a bad.

‘I would say in this respect, both of them have got a reasonable deal they’re both happy with.’
