Dan Bernstein will launch a daily podcast, “Dan Bernstein Unfiltered,” on Aug. 25 with Matt Abbatacola, his former producer at The Score. The debut show will cover Bernstein’s time since the station fired him in March.
The Sun-Times reported Monday that Bernstein was close to agreeing to do a podcast with Hubbard Broadcasting, a Minnesota-based company that operates three FM stations in Chicago.
“Thirty years on Chicago airwaves taught me that fans want honesty above all else, and that’s what they can expect from me every day.” Bernstein said in a release Tuesday from 312 Sports. “I couldn’t be more excited to get back behind the microphone, dig into Bears camp, and tell my story.”
The podcast is being produced by 312 Sports, part of the Gamut Podcast Network that Hubbard launched in March to increase its presence in the space. 312 Sports is looking to become a player on the Chicago sports media scene, with more team-specific shows in the works, including “Forward Progress: A Chicago Bears Podcast” with Bernstein and Abbatacola, which will drop Aug. 26.
Episodes of Bernstein’s daily show will drop weekday mornings on all major audio platforms, YouTube and 312sports.com.
The Score announced March 21 that it had fired Bernstein after a social media flap that also cost him his spot on the Camp One Step by Children’s Oncology Services board of directors.
