Robert Irwin spoke out about what his family thought of his sizzling shirtless photoshoot in which he stripped down to nearly nothing while modeling for Bonds underwear.
Irwin told the Today show on May 5, 2025, that his family “had a lot of words” after seeing the snaps. “They were like ‘Wow, there’s some things we can’t unsee’” said the 21-year-old.
Irwin, who is the son of “The Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, who died in 2006 during a filming accident when a stingray’s barb punctured his chest, went on, “It was wonderful, because Bonds, who’s like a massive, iconic underwear company in Australia, they came to me and said, ‘We wanna do something that heroes Australian wildlife.’ And I’ve dedicated my life to conservation, to carrying on an important legacy – protecting animals.”
“Life’s about embracing it,” he declared, before adding, “It was good.”
Steve Irwin had one other child, daughter Bindi.
Irwin went into more depth about what his dad’s legacy means to him after Al Roker pointed out the Steve Irwin Gala to raise funds for the Wildlife Warriors, a conservation charity, was scheduled for May 10.
“I think he showcased what it was to live 110%,” said Irwin, before calling his father “larger than life” and “so enthusiastic.”
“At his core, he was all about conservation and all about family,” he recalled.

After being announced as a ‘Dancing With the Stars‘ celebrity cast member for season 34, Irwin was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner, and revealed his relationship status, calling himself “very single.”
Irwin previously dated the niece of Heath Ledger, Rorie Buckey, for almost two years. E! News reported their split, which the philanthropist announced on Instagram, in February 2024.
In the pre-‘DWTS’ sit-down, Turner broached the subject of a possible future on “The Bachelor” and Irwin left the possibility open. “Hey, I mean, never say never,” he said.

ABC announced at the end of April that the long running reality competition would return for a 34th season to air in the fall of 2025. No premiere date has been set.
The comments on the show’s Instagram post announcing the new season were filled with fans lobbying for more screentime for fan favorite professional dancer Sasha Farber, who was famously partnered with two-time Olympic gymnastics all-around champion Simone Biles in season 24.
“Y’all better not do Sasha dirty again by cutting him out until the very last minute,” wrote one fan.
Another commented, “We want Sasha back!”
A third viewer chimed in, “And Sasha better back, btw.”
