Jake Paul will face WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in an exhibition bout on November 14 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Davis’ title won’t be on the line due to the huge weight difference between the two men.
Paul weighed 200 pounds in his last fight, while Davis currently weighs 140 pounds.
A YouTuber-turned-boxer, Paul gained fame on the Disney Channel and as an influencer before entering the boxing world, with a 12-1 record as a professional.
“Yes, he’s one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, but my motto is anyone, anytime, anywhere, against all odds,” Paul wrote on X., outside.
Paul added that he was “first David, then Goliath,” which could be interpreted as a reference to reports that he was in talks to fight British heavyweight Anthony Joshua.
Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn, who promotes Joshua, told BBC Sport that Paul is likely to be the next challenger for the two-time heavyweight champion when he returns from injury in 2026.
American Davis is unbeaten in 31 professional fights, winning 30 and drawing one, with 28 of those wins coming by knockout.
Paul beat 39-year-old former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision in his last fight.
The 28-year-old scored a points victory over 58-year-old Mike Tyson in November.
Davis retained his WBA lightweight title in his last fight after drawing with Lamont Roach Jr. in March.
In January, Davis was ranked eighth in the pound-for-pound rankings.
Paul has made it his mission to convince the boxing community of his abilities since his professional debut in 2020.
After defeating a YouTuber, a former NBA player, and three former UFC fighters, Paul suffered his first defeat in 2023 against Tommy Fury.
But with a weight difference of around 34 kg between Paul and Davis in their last fights, this fight won’t do much for either of their reputations.
There’s also a significant height difference, with Paul standing 193 cm tall to the 175 cm “Tank,” while Davis will be 23 cm shorter.
The contracted weight, number of rounds, and glove size for the exhibition have yet to be confirmed.
Paul wore a larger 430-gram glove and fought shorter rounds against Tyson, given the former world champion’s age.
There are striking similarities to when Paul’s brother Logan boxed Floyd Mayweather in 2021.
Mayweather, the undefeated five-time world champion, was 16 pounds lighter and 15 inches shorter than his opponent during the presentation.
