Justin Herbert Will Love Chargers’ Latest Quentin Johnston Injury Update

The Los Angeles Chargers are on a bit of a roll, as they have rattled off three straight wins to push their record to 7-3 on the season. As is usually the case, quarterback Justin Herbert has been the one leading the charge for the Chargers, and he will be looking to help his squad pick up its fourth-straight victory in Week 11.

Injuries have forced L.A. to rely on its passing attack more than anticipated this season, but Herbert hasn’t always had his full complement of pass catchers at his disposal. One guy who has been banged up as of late is wide receiver Quentin Johnston, but ahead of the team’s upcoming contest, it received some good news on the explosive playmaker’s injury status.

Quentin Johnston Expected to Suit Up for Chargers in Week 11

A first-round pick back in the 2023 NFL Draft, Johnston had been a bit of a disappointment through his first two seasons in the league. While Johnston caught 55 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns in 2024, he struggled with his consistency, and he had a frustrating habit of dropping passes at the worst possible time.

In 2025, Johnston exploded out of the gate, as he caught 22 passes for 337 yards and four touchdowns in his first four games. He’s been hobbled by injuries since then, though, and with Ladd McConkey finding his way after a slow start, Johnston has slid back into his place as a secondary option in the Chargers’ passing attack.

The latest ailment that Johnston is dealing with is a shin injury that limited him at practice throughout the week. It seemed like he had a 50-50 shot to suit up for L.A.’s upcoming game, but the latest reports indicate that Johnston will be good to go for this game, which will surely be music to Herbert’s ears.

“Chargers optimistic about Quentin Johnston Sunday in Jacksonville after full participation Sunday. Team should have a full arsenal at the skill positions barring something unexpected,” Jeremy Fowler of ESPN shared in a post on X.

Chargers Aiming to Keep Pace with Broncos in AFC West

Despite boasting a 7-3 record, the Chargers aren’t exactly in the position they’d like to be in when it comes to the NFL playoff picture. That’s thanks in large part to the competition in the AFC West division. The Denver Broncos are leading the pack with an 8-2 record, while the Kansas City Chiefs are lurking with a 5-4 record.

Those two teams will play each other in Week 11, though, so assuming Los Angeles can take down the Jacksonville Jaguars like it is expected to on Sunday afternoon, it will be in a great spot to either gain some ground on Denver or put some distance between itself and Kansas City. Winning is never guaranteed in the NFL, though, so the Chargers will do everything in their power to take down the Jaguars when their game gets underway at 1 p.m. ET.
