In a rare podcast appearance, LeBron James opened up about his marriage to Savannah. The couple has been together since they were in high school back in their hometown of Akron, Ohio.
Speaking on Savannah’s “Everybody’s Crazy” podcast, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar joined a bunch of famous guests, which included streamers Kai Cenat and Fanum and rapper Travis Bennett.
One of the discussions was about relationships, with James admitting that he never wants to be alone. He’s going to fight for his marriage no matter what happens, with Samantha looking dearly at her husband.
“I know I don’t want to be alone, that’s for damn sure. If I got to fight, crawl, scratch, bite, whatever to keep mine, I got to keep it. I have to do what I have to do. I don’t want to be alone. I’m an only child, single-parent household. … Then when I got with ‘Vannah, I was like, ‘This s–t is crazy. This is amazing. I love this s–t.’ I’m like, ‘Nah, f–k that. Next time I’m alone, I’ll be underneath,’” James said.
LeBron and Savannah James have been inseparable since meeting in high school. They began dating in 2002 and got married in 2013. They have three children together: sons Bronny and Bryce and daughter Zhuri.
LeBron James’ Relationship with Savannah Isn’t Perfect
While LeBron James’ relationship with Savannah appears to be perfect, it’s not the case because they are like any other couple. They are going through tough times, especially with the career James has had since 2003.
“The King” opened up about the hardships during his marriage in an interview with Speedy Morman of Complex.
“The relationship is never never picture perfect, but if you able to work through the hardships and the adverse moments, then it will make it all worth it. We’ve been together since high school. So s–t ain’t going to always be a bed of roses, in any relationship, let alone someone that you’ve been living with for over 20 years,” James said.
James added his three keys to his relationship with Savannah, with the first one being communication. The second one is honesty, and the third is being okay with being uncomfortable at times. He also revealed that the saying “Happy wife, happy life” is true.
LeBron James Honored Savannah in 2023
After receiving the ESPY Award for Best Record-Breaking Performance two years ago, LeBron James thanked Savannah for all the sacrifices she has made during his career. Savannah stayed at home to take care of their three children as James built their empire on and off the court.
“If any of y’all know her, I know that there’s a few people in here that know her, you know she doesn’t ever do s–t like this, ever. And the fact that I’m loving it that y’all get to see the queen that I live with every day. Kudos to you, baby. For our family, no one has sacrificed more and more hard work to support this family more than you and I appreciate you for that, love you,” James said.
Now that Bronny James is playing in the NBA and Bryce James is in his first year of college at Arizona, Savannah has turned into a public figure. She launched her own podcast last year with friend and co-host April McDaniel.
