Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown saw an early end to his Thanksgiving, but the controversy over how betting and fantasy football platforms reacted to his injury is raging on.
St. Brown was hurt in the first quarter of Thursday’s game, getting hit from behind while blocking for running back Jahmyr Gibbs. With St. Brown leaving so early, some betting outlets were forced to make a decision on how to handle wagers that involved him — though fantasy football owners were more out of luck.
Some Betting Outlets Cancel Amon-Ra St. Brown Bets
St. Brown was able to leave the field under his own power, but had a noticeable limp. He was taken to the locker room for evaluation, and the Lions announced shortly afterward that he would be questionable to return.
FanDuel also announced that they would be monitoring St. Brown’s status after the injury and could refund bets if he was not able to return.
“Weâre aware that Amon-Ra St. Brown left the game during the 1st Quarter with a possible injury. His status is being monitored,” the platform announced. “We will provide further Bet Protect updates as they become available.”
