Man, 45, critically wounded in South Shore shooting

A 45-year-old man was shot and critically injured by a man on a scooter in South Shore on Monday afternoon, Chicago police said.


The victim had been standing near the sidewalk along the 7800 block of South South Shore Drive at about 2:53 p.m. when the other man approached him on a scooter and fired multiple shots at him, police said.

The 45-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

The victim was initially listed in critical condition, according to police.

Area Two detectives are investigating. Police said two persons of interest were brought in for questioning.
