Over $500,000 worth of stolen protein powder was recovered from a warehouse in southwest suburban Bridgeview, the Cook County sheriff’s office announced.
Investigators with the Cook County Organized Retail Crime Unit found the powder, 25,000 pounds of it, on Dec. 23 after a cargo theft investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
The investigation launched when a supply chain company notified the unit that a large shipment of SEEQ protein powder went missing, officials said.
SEEQ has not immediately responded to requests for comment.
The unit is continuing to gather information to build a strong theft case, the sheriff’s office said.
No arrests were made.
Earlier this month, the crime unit recovered roughly 24,000 pounds of stolen coffee products worth over $100,000 from a warehouse in Melrose Park, authorities said.
