Shilo Sanders, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, has reportedly been released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The decision came as all NFL teams were required to trim their rosters down to 53 players by the August 26 deadline. The move follows an incident in the team’s final preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, where Sanders was ejected for throwing a punch at tight end Zach Davidson.

Sanders, 25, went undrafted in the April NFL draft but was signed by the Buccaneers as a free agent. Before the preseason game, he was listed as a third-string safety on the depth chart. Despite being cut, his professional football hopes are not yet over. The report notes that he could still be signed to the Buccaneers’ practice squad or find an opportunity with another team. The article also mentions that his younger brother, Shedeur, a quarterback, was a fifth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns, and highlights their father Deion Sanders’ illustrious career in both the NFL and MLB.
