SAN JOSE — Two men were arrested in connection to a late-night shooting in July that wounded several people, police said in a news release.
Around 10:50 p.m. on July 20, police responded to a report of a person shot near Monterey Road and Southside Drive, officials said. Officers found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds.
The investigation found that a fight broke out between two groups at an “unsanctioned car show event,” officials said. An adult male suspect who was not involved in the fight approached the groups and shot a handgun into the air. The suspect then shot toward one of the adult males.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries and the other with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. An update on their conditions was not available Wednesday.
Authorities investigating the case identified two suspects and obtained arrest warrants. On August 28, police arrested a 26-year-old suspect from Union City on suspicion of attempted murder. The second suspect, a 27-year-old from Fremont, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to attempted murder, police said.
Police asked anyone with further information about this case to contact Detective Gaarde at 4560@sanjoseca.gov or 408-277-4161.
