One man is dead and another wounded after they were both shot in North Lawndale Friday night, police said.
The men, 39 and 42, were standing in the street in the 1500 block of South Kenneth Avenue around 11:15 p.m. when someone approached and fired shots, according to Chicago police.
Both men were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where the 39-year-old was pronounced dead with gunshot wounds to the back of the head. The 42-year-old was in fair condition with gunshot wounds to the stomach, shoulder and buttocks, police said.
The suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan. No one is in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
