Finn Sanaxay, 6, caught his first gar (looks like a longnose to me) over the Labor Day weekend while his family camped near the Mississippi River.
“Finn landed his very first gar and was very excited about it as he doesn’t get the chance to catch these that often,” his dad Jim messaged. “Beautiful fish!”
Plus they are delightfully distinctive ancient fish.
