Man arrested, accused of starting massive Line fire in San Bernardino Mountains

A man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of starting the 32,905-acre Line wildfire on Thursday in Highland, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced.

The suspect, a 34-year-old man from Norco, was identified as the suspect who started a fire in the area of Base Line and Alpin streets, a news release said.

The Line fire spread into the mountains and the San Bernardino National Forest.

He was arrested after an investigation by Highland sheriff’s station detectives in collaboration with Cal Fire investigators. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of arson and was being held on $80,000 bail, the release said.
