A Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star ‘immediately broke up’ with her boyfriend after appearing on the Channel 4 show.

TV presenter Cherry Healey, 43, decided to dump her partner because the brutal reality programme made her realise their relationship was ‘absolute shenanigans.’

The 10 Years Younger in 10 Days host said while she was ‘really in love’ with her boyfriend, she could not return to the ‘silliness’ after being put through her paces in various brutal military training challenges on Celebrity SAS.

She told Metro.co.uk and other press ahead of the show’s launch: ‘I got back from the experience and I immediately broke up with the person I was dating because it was just absolute shenanigans.

‘I was so proud of what I’d achieved on the show I got back and I immediately was like, “What are we doing here, if it’s shenanigans again?”

‘I was really in love with this person, but it was mucking about and silliness and I broke up with him because I was like there’s no way I have just gone through all of that to get back to silliness.’

Cherry admitted if she hadn’t signed up for the show she’would have put up with it for longer’.

‘I would be six months behind where I am now, with a lovely boyfriend and feeling good and stable,’ she added.

Cherry has now been in a relationship with a sports marketing business founder called Justin, who was her first match on a dating app after taking a hiatus advised by her therapist.

‘I thought he was just a lovely, lovely person, and he was looking for the same thing as I was,’ she said of her first date with Justin.

‘I want a proper, proper relationship that really has depth and means something.’

However, she spoke about the perils of re-enting the dating pool in your 40s, saying: ‘It’s like a cruel game. You need a PhD in psychology to deal with dating in your 40s.’

Cherry was previously married to her then-long-term partner and entrepreneur Roly Allen from 2010 until 2016.

The former couple share daughter Coco, aged 15, and a son Bear, ten.

Former Olympic gymnast Ellie Downie will also be taking part, as will reality TV star Bianca Gascoigne, former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw, and John Barrowman among others.

Series six of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins will air on Channel 4 every Sunday and Monday from September 22 at 9pm.
