CRICKET AUSTRALIA has banned a coach and former Sri Lanka international after he was found guilty of “serious inappropriate behaviour”.
Dulip Samaraweera, 52, will not be able to hold any position within the sport Down Under for 20 years.

His ban comes following an investigation into allegations made while he was employed by governing body Cricket Victoria.
The ex-Women’s Big Bash League coach is alleged to have behaved in a “coercive and controlling manner” towards a female player over an extended period.
On Samaraweera’s ban, Cricket Australia chief Nick Cummins said: “We strongly support the decision taken by the Code of Conduct Commission today, banning Dulip Samaraweera for 20 years
“It is our view that the conduct was utterly reprehensible and a betrayal of everything we stand for at Cricket Victoria.
“The victim in this case has demonstrated incredible strength of character and courage in speaking up.
“She will continue to receive our ongoing support to allow her to achieve her goals on and off the field.
“From an organisation perspective, the safety and well-being of everyone at Cricket Victoria is paramount.
“We will not tolerate any behaviour which compromises that position, or our people, and will always support our culture of speaking up.”
Samaraweera played seven test matches for Sri Lanka from 1993 to 1995.
Earlier this year, he suddenly resigned as Victoria women’s team coach.
