SAN JOSE — A man who was hit by a car in July died of his injuries this month, police said Tuesday.
The collision happened at around 10:31 p.m. on July 25, when a man driving a 2019 Dodge Charger south on Snell Avenue turned left on Blossom Hill Road and hit a man crossing the street, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, stabilized and put into longterm care, police said. He died on Oct. 8 due to his injuries from the crash.

On Oct. 17, the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office notified SJPD that the pedestrian had died. The identity of the victim will be released by the coroner pending positive identification.
The incident marks the 17th pedestrian death in San Jose in 2024. It is also the 44th fatal collision and traffic death of the year.
