Bukayo Saka has sent a message of unity to his teammates and the Arsenal fans after defeat at Newcastle United on Saturday.
Alexander Isak scored the only goal of the game as the Magpies beat the Gunners at St James’ Park, bouncing back after back-to-back Premier League defeats.
Arsenal have now picked up just one point from their last three games and have fallen seven points behind league-leaders Liverpool.
Saka was not sugar-coating the disappointing result as he posted the scoreline from St James’ Park on his Instagram Stories, but he caption it with: ‘We stick together!’
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was fairly downbeat after the loss, admitting that his side desered nothing from the game.
‘We deserved to lose today. I thought we started really well and were really dominant. We didn’t defend the box well enough, credit to them. They scored a great goal with a good ball.
‘Then the game changes and you start to play a different game. You have to adapt and we didn’t do that well enough. I am very frustrated.

‘We got dragged into a game they are looking for constantly and we couldn’t play the game that we wanted.
‘We had two big chances — Mikel (Merino) had a big one, Declan (Rice) had a big one. We lacked answers.’
He added: ‘When you create three big chances in the game you’re hoping to score a goal because these are the fine margins we’re always discussing. I think the team should have generated more at that’s my responsibility.’
Defender William Saliba echoed those thoughts, telling TNT Sports: ‘We are all a bit sad because we wanted to win today.

‘Unfortunately we didn’t and we didn’t play the game we wanted to play. We deserved to lose today I think.
‘I think we didn’t play how we wanted to play and they were good as well. It’s OK, we are focused on the next week and it is not finished.’
However, the Frenchman also offered the same message as Saka, saying: ‘We have to stick together. Last season we had one period like and we need to stay together and have the confidence to get out.
‘We all believe we will come back.’
