Golden recognition
The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors recently recognized West Valley Community Services as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The recognition also comes after the local nonprofit received a grant from Santa Clara County to bolster the offerings of its Park-It Market program, a mobile food pantry for people in the West Valley, according to a release from County Supervisor Joe Simitian.
“Fifty years is a long time to be doing good work,” Simitian said in a release. “While the need continues to be great, we should take the time to honor and celebrate significant milestones like this.”
House in order
After receiving two extensions on its temporary permits to offer scaled-back wine tastings, House Family Vineyards is finalizing the draft environmental impact report for its regular operations on Old Oak Way in Saratoga.
The report is currently undergoing a 45-day review period that ends on Dec. 19 at 5 p.m. The city of Saratoga is inviting members of the public to submit written comments on the report to Nicole Johnson at njohnson@saratoga.ca.us with the subject line “House Family Vineyards,” or by mail addressed to the city of Saratoga, Attn: Nicole Johnson at 13777 Fruitvale Ave., Saratoga, CA.
The city will also host a public meeting to receive verbal comments on the matter on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 4:30 p.m. at the Linda Callon Conference Room in city hall. Visit saratoga.ca.us/HFV to learn more.
